The Friends of St. Patrick’s host successful Dementia Information Evening

The Friends of St. Patrick’s Hospital recently hosted an information evening titled “Understanding Dementia and challenging behaviours that can arise”
Hosted by Barbara Murphy, Director of Nursing at St. Patrick’s Hospital, the topics included; person centred care approaches, communication strategies and understanding and managing challenging behaviour.
Keynote speaker Joanne Flood, RPN, MSc in Dementia, addressed the large attendance of staff, healthcare workers, carers and family on the evening.
